Injector Pumps
Doing an injector Pump on any non-common-rail turbo diesel is the most effective way of getting all of the power out of your engine. although you can still make good power with the standard pump. My Patrol makes 118 rwkw and 820nm on 35inch tyres on the standard pump.
Nissan GQ patrols standard pump comes with a 10mm plunger, This allows the amount of fuel to get pumped into the engine.
Nissan GU Patrols standard pump comes with a 11mm plunger, this increase in size has slight power benefits.
Now to the good stuff you want to here about, how to make real power
If your after power because the standard pump just does not cut it or your going to rebuild the pump and think might as well make it better, there are a few options you have available.
1. 12mm plunger, this requires the pump to be reconditioned and a 12mm plunger to be replaced, the injectors should also be checked and adjusted. BSP-diesel has been doing this for many years with safety and reliability. with a good turbo set up and intercooler this option would produce about 160-180 rwkw on 35inch tyers and around 1200 + nm follow the link to get BSP's contact information if you are considering this option for your diesel /http://fuel-injection-diesel.goaus.net/campbellfield/bsp-diesel/
